    The Girl Scouts today are not who you may think we are. 67% of our girls are from low-income families. 53% are girls of color. 29% participate through alternative programs, not through traditional troops. We offer college prep, financial literacy and engineering programs to our girls. Uniforms are optional. And yes, we continue to proudly promote the country's most successful entrepreneurial program for girls: the Girl Scout cookie sale.
